Suzuka was built as a test track for Honda in 1962. John Hugenholtz, designer of the Zandvoort Circuit in Holland, was assigned to build Suzuka as a test track for Honda in the early 1960s. It is located 30 miles to the south-west of Nagoya which is Japan’s third largest city. It operated by Mobility land Corporation, the subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Suzuka is famous for the unique figure-of-eight layout.





The circuit has been modified three times. In 1983 a chicane was positioned at the last curve to slow the cars into the pit straight and a curve was made into two corners instead of one long curve; the circuit was also made noticeably safer in 1983 by adding run-off areas and removing straw bales.

In 2002, the chicane was slightly modified and some of the Snake curves were made a bit straighter and faster; again in 2003, the chicane was made slightly faster.

The full circuit, the “Suzuka East” and “Suzuka West” configuration are the three configurations. The “East” portion of the course consists of the pit straight to the first half of the turn 7, before leading back to the pit straight via a tight right-hander. The “West” course is made up of the other part of the full circuit, including the crossover bridge.

The Formula One Fuji Television Japanese Grand Prix was co-hosted by Suzuka. It hosts the Suzuka 8 Hours motorcycle race, Suzuka 1000km endurance race. it was part of multiple GT racing series including Group C class, and the Suzuka 1000km, to name a few.

Suzuka continues to host the Japanese GP every year while also playing host to many of the major Japanese national events as well. In recent years some improvement work has been done to develop facilities, mainly because Honda is alert that it will not be long before Toyota starts to bid for the Japanese GP with its revamped Mount Fuji facility.

Suzuka is the Japan’s first full-fledged racing course established in 1962 and the circuit has been the center of Japanese motorsports.. There will probably be three new vehicles from Toyota in the market on 2012. The three major Japanese car line ups for 2012 would be an electronic car and a Prius which is a plug-in model. The third will be a new model of the Prius. Though Toyota has not yet officially announced what car they will be releasing in 2012, the Prius model will definitely be the forerunner of Toyota this 2012. The company is still making sure that the cars will be properly supported with sufficient infrastructure before releasing them. There are other cars beside the top three major line-up of Toyota for 2012 that will be released or are already released earlier in 2011. Here are some other car models that Toyota will most probably be releasing on 2012:
